HERBAL APPRENTICESHIP & CLASSES

PROGRAM POLICIES

Refund & Cancellation Policy

We are a small, community-focused herbalism school, and every tuition payment helps us prepare materials and keep our teachings alive. Because of this, we do not offer refunds except in cases of serious personal or family emergencies that prevent you from attending the majority of the course. Any refunds granted are handled on a case-by-case basis and are not guaranteed. A $150 non-refundable fee will be retained to cover materials and administrative costs for those who have paid in full. We do not refund for missed classes, scheduling conflicts, or changes in availability.

Payment Plans

Choosing a payment plan is a commitment to the full program cost and duration. Early withdrawal from the program is not allowed unless a serious emergency occurs. In such cases, you are responsible for payments made up to the time of withdrawal plus one additional month ($150).

Dismissal from the Program

We reserve the right to remove a participant for behavior that is harmful, disruptive, or violates community agreements. Refunds in these cases are not guaranteed and handled on a case-by-case basis.

Liability Disclaimer

Liability Waiver & Assumption of Risk

By enrolling in and participating in the Hedgefolk Apprenticeship, including any in-person workshops, foraging walks, or related activities, you acknowledge that these experiences may involve inherent risks such as uneven terrain, insect bites, allergic reactions, weather exposure, physical exertion, and other natural hazards.

You voluntarily accept and assume full responsibility for any risk of injury, illness, or other harm that may occur as a result of your participation.

You agree that Folk & Fire Apothecary, its owners, instructors, guest teachers, volunteers, and land hosts are not liablefor any injury, loss, or damage to person or property arising from your participation.

If you have health concerns, allergies, or are pregnant or nursing, please consult your healthcare provider before enrolling or using herbal remedies.

General Safety & Accessibility

We’re all about sharing herbal wisdom and deepening your connection to the land — but it’s important to know this program is educational only, not a replacement for professional medical care.

While we create a safe and supportive space for learning and foraging, nature is unpredictable, and some risks are part of the journey. By joining, you accept responsibility for your own well-being and agree that Folk & Fire Apothecary is not liable for injuries or health outcomes related to your participation, as stated above.

Accessibility & Physical Demands

Our apprenticeship includes outdoor classes and foraging walks that can cover uneven terrain and several miles. While we warmly welcome all who wish to learn and grow with us, please be aware that the program requires a certain level of physical mobility and stamina.

We are committed to making reasonable accommodations whenever possible — if you have specific needs or concerns about accessibility, please reach out before enrolling so we can discuss how to best support your participation.

Safety and comfort are top priorities, and clear communication helps us create the best experience for everyone.

Inclusion & Respect

Folk & Fire Apothecary is a proudly inclusive community. We expect all participants to honor and respect each other with kindness and openness. Everyone is welcome here, exactly as they are.

By enrolling, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to abide by these policies, and you accept full responsibility for your participation in the Hedgefolk Apprenticeship.
